I will not miss Xmas at home. That has been my rule since I started driving in '82 I have quit jobs. One dispatcher thought he would keep me on the east coast one year after I adimitly told him I will be home for Xmas. I left the truck at the airport and flew home. Went back and got it after Xmas moral of the story go home. 120 miles isn't that far even if you have to buy the fuel.
So here I sit

Got offered $150 dollars extra. WOW!! I delivered just to free up my truck. Since I got threatened to have the police called on me for holding the load and didn't want to go through all the legal issues. It was a TQL load, brokers William "Chris" Q, Andrew C, & Zach. Last time TQL got me I quit hauling for them and a higher up boss called me and found out what happened & compensated me to get me back. This time TQL will get cussed out for the low life window licking scumbags that they are if they ever call me ever again.

NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Tried negotiating with them all day. William "Chris" is the main one that handles the loads that I was on, or should I say he is the one that negotiates with the shipper. I sent them an invoice with some realistic figures, one was $2 a mile for the extra mileage & was told that $2 a mile was an outrageous figure and that they would not pay any additional mileage. $150 is all they said they could offer until they talked with the shipper on Monday since they had closed for the holidays. Then they told me if I refused to deliver today that I would be charged a late charge for each day. I told them that in my previous dealings with TQL when things didn't go as planned and that once the load is delivered you(the carrier) don't stand a chance of getting anything extra. Has happened to me before with TQL. You have to get a updated rate sheet before you deliver and I told them that $150 was an insult and to get someone with some authority on the phone to get me paid the money that I deserve for being left to hang out to dry for Christmas. This went on for a couple hours while I was sitting at the receiver today holding onto the load and finally I got enough and cussed them ALL out. I didn't come out that bad, the load was 220 miles, plus 240 miles home & back for Christmas 460 total miles, paid $775, weighed 3000 lbs, plus the extra $150 is $950 which all comes out to $2.01 per mile. Plus I didn't miss Christmas. But William "chris" lied to me Wednesday when he said he would call me back & didn't & went home for Christmas & left me there, Very unprofessional & disrespectful business practices. And after all the BS today I'm done with TQL.

Well TQL reads TTR. I had a call from someone in customer relations tody on my cell phone regarding this thread. She was very nice, apologetic & seemed concerned & told me that I shouldn't have been treated this way. I have never been late picking up or delivering a load for TQL. One of her main concerns that TQL wants to keep me as a carrier due to my reputation and also wants me to get the money that is owed to me for all the bs. I did tell her that the $150 extra dollars was an insult for all that I went through and since TQL wouldn't budge things got ugly. Andrew if you are reading this , you told me that if you had to you would pay me the extra mileage to go home on 12/24/2014 while I was waiting for Chris to call me back out of your pocket for this mess up. I hope that is on recording and that they take it out of your pay. And Chris if you happen to see this also, customer relations didn't think it was very cool to not call me back, especially on Christmas Eve.And Zach if you see this also that threat which I hope is recorded about you calling the police on me could turn into a very interesting topic also. I did mention also that I cussed all of you out real good. I told customer relations to take me off the call list for now.

Too much freight and too many decent brokers out there to waste time on TQL. Been on my NO Loads list for a few years, imagine they'll stay there.

As a former paramedic I have to agree. In certain lines of work you just have to expect to miss holidays and special occasions sometimes. The crappy part is that they're typically in fields that pay far less than what the workers deserve.

after breaking the TQL habit life just keeps getting better now I only call them when I'm bored and need a laugh and I remember Zack that prick screwed me on TONU money a few years ago HMMMM rite before Christmas.
ChromeNut, NavigatorWife and Straitliner Thank this. -
What is TONU????

Truck Ordered Not Used. Means they found someone to do it cheaper. Usually.

Just to revive this thread on an issue... what have you guys done when you take the load somewhere else and keep it? Wouldn't this be called holding it hostage or stealing? My concern is they would call the police and whatever happens after that. Maybe tow the truck/trailer, have to pay to get truck, plus bond to get out of jail? To me that'd be holding it hostage, you can't do that in my eyes. Can someone change my mind?
