Just completed 633 miles of almost all interstate running 1/2 the time loads of 10k or less, the other 1/2 max gross (48 foot dry box). Filled up 108 gallons for $502. 5.86 was the final MPG that is the best I have seen yet with this truck. The engine is fresh and I just turned 16k since the rebuild. Do you guys think I will continue to see mileage improve??
-
It will take a little while. Everything in your engine will have to seat. That's your "beak in." Once it breaks in you will see better fuel mileage.

when I did run I had 18 sp Pete with 4,.33 with good mileage
-
I have a 81 freightshaker wiht 4:33 gears with a 9 speed direct and a 350 big cam III anyone have any ideas what to do to to get the top end faster about 73 mph aint gunna cut it. I haul cattle got a reputation to with hold. I dont want to loose any pulling power by changing the rears.
-
swap out the trans. or add a aux. one like a 4 speed brownie with a OD
-
See if you can find a 13 Double OD also max the Big Cam out and look out. Sorry drove a 88 International with a 444 that ate Kitty cats for Breakfast. Dyno snapped at 720 on the ground when I had 50 lbs of rail and 10 lbs of boost left to feed her. Setup was 13 DO .5 fnal drive 3.55 rears and 24.5 Big Rubber. That old girl would HAUL IT.

change the back of trans box to make it a 13 then put your hat on backwards so it dont blow off!!
