Loose leaf was my friend for 28 years then I started using "Big Road" app on my phone and emailed it daily to the office. And if the printer in the LEO's car is wireless you can print it on his printer with his paper and his ink, if not you can get a wireless printer at Walmart for less than $40.00 American.
SheepDog Thanks this. -
Can u hand that to a dot cop and he would accept it
-
I assume your asking about the phone itself and the answer is yes. I have had a DOT officer ask me to give him the actual paper logs, and I have also had a DOT officer look at the app on my phone, which is perfectly legal and has everything the DOT needs to see. To use the BigRoad App you have to have a printer in your truck but, like bubbanbrenda say, it only cost's around $40 Just so you know, the app can work like ELogs or like paper, however you want it to work. In other words, you can have it change lines automatically or change them manually. I pay $7.40 a week for the APP, thru the company I am leased to, not sure what it costs to actually get it yourself.bubbanbrenda Thanks this.

Yes, LEO's must accept it, BUT you MUST be able to produce a paper copy if asked. Its free for the app @ google play store, if the company signs up for Big Roads "fleet" program then there is a charge to the company, that is apparently being passed on to you. But to do it by your self it's free.

Yes 7 days prior is all i ever keep in mine
And to the guys saying its not illegal to tear pages out, no its not
But if you hand them a bound logbook and its easy to spot 4-5 pages missing he will dig deeper.
If you pull them out and keep 1-2 months of unfilled log pages in a loose leaf they never know how many you had so they dont give it a second thought.
You got to rem with so many states being broke the cops and dots are looking hard for any penny they can get and you need to cover your ### to keep everything as clean and nice looking as you can.
Then they will glance and wave you by to get the guy behind you with the fenders falling off his truck and whiteout on his logs -
I use the 'Keep Truckin' app. It will fax a paper log.SheepDog Thanks this.

Yea I'm with flyby night. I use keep truckin app on my iPad it's free. I've been checked 3 times using it and there is never an issue. Other times I've been asked where my log book is...I say it's an "e-log" and that's the end of the dance right there. Saves a lot of time and headache over paper logs and it's got a disclaimer with regulation stating that the officers cannot refuse to accept it

So does Big Road it will e-mail or fax to anyone you want, or print on any wireless printer with in blue tooth range, including a V.I.R. BUT if the LEO asks for a paper copy and you cant produce one you will probably get a ticket, I'm just sayin'...
