Delivered pizza for many years, two places I worked at, who shall remain nameless, on the big map on the wall, we had a list of good and bad tippers, as well as color coded push pins on the address. Red for bad, green for good. We also had blue push pins for the houses where we had multiple incidents of being greeted by a woman wearing next to nothing. Sadly, there was only 4 of those. Oddly, bad tippers seemed to have issues with their pizza as well, can't seem to explain it.
Has anybody ever ordered pizza delivery to the truck?

I had to call and beg a place to deliver a few years back. I was in the middle of nowheresville OK waiting to pick up coils the next morning. I was upfrount with the guy told him who I was and where and that I had o way to get any food. He felt bad enough that they brought me a pizza. I want to say it was some kinda holiday and they were about to close. So I got lucky.

Even though a local peddler, Around my city ( metro ) it's not tractor trailer friendly, Plenty of no tractor trailers permitted in parking lots signs ( will tow ) even with a single screw and pup, The Police will indeed hassle you for traveling the short public roadway and parking on private property or off the boulevard 50 feet from a fast food joint.
Glad i'm not the only person to order food to a tractor trailer. More suggestions is appreciated. I like that beyondmenu.com link.
Not a bagged lunched cooler person, even though could eliminate all hassles with a daycab. -
I dunno. We truckers sure get carried away on some of the most simplest topics. 5 pages of junk to date.

In my opinion, Chinese food doesn't seem to "travel" well. Gets oily before you get a chance to dig in. It is an "eat in" food only for me.
Pizza and Subs (hot or cold) are the only thing I attempt to have delivered.
And Jimmy John's can KMA! The only reason they are "freaky fast" is because they have a 2 mile radius. I once asked to have some delivered to my home, and when they said I lived out of their delivery area, I looked it up at Google Maps---2.3 miles! I emailed corporate and asked them to pull their ad's from commercials that claimed "freaky fast", and explained OF COURSE IT IS FREAKY FAST IF ALL YOU'RE GONNA DO IS DELIVER ACROSS THE STREET!
Needless to say, I have never had a Jimmy John's sandwich, because I have boycotted them.8thnote, striker, Skate-Board and 3 others Thank this. -
I've ordered pizza quite a few times. Most places don't mind delivering to your truck, as long as you're descriptive about your location.

THis is what I usually do as I'm a vegetarian and some of the truck stops are not friendly as far as that goes. On toll roads it sometimes takes some figuring to get them to come to the back service gate and you have to walk over and meet them so they don't have to pay to get on the turnpike, but I've had great luck with it and it's cheaper/better/healthier/etc than what's in the truck stop/rest area.

I've had pizza delivered numerous times. Never to a truck stop though. It's always been when I got held up longer than expected at a shipper or receiver. I've had Italian delivered while parked on the road in Chicago (just gave them the address of the nearest business). I've had Chinese delivered in NYC. I once even had a pizza delivered to a rest area on i80 in WY when they shut it down to trucks due to high winds. It was about a 20 mile drive for the delivery guy, but I promised a $40 tip if he got it to me.
ive always been upfront and honest that I'm in a truck and I always give them a good description of my truck (luckily there are not many with a big orange stripe down the sides) and I always give my phone number and tell them to call if they have any problems finding me. And, as others have said, always be on the lookout for the delivery guy. I also always tip them very well for delivering to my truck because it could be considered a risky situation by the delivery guy. Make it worth his while.Shaggy Thanks this.
