No....Some areas pay more than others , the west coast , the north east etc....some facets of trucking pay better too, like tanker , heavy haul , over size/over length , Haz-Mat , some LTL companies , some food-service companies....

They are out there, but the key is you have to be willing to WORK, and I mean work hard. I clear 6 figures in car haul, have for years even before I owned my company , but it is work, same as when I drove tow truck, made over 100k yearly but I was out all times of the night, in all kinds of weather and fighting with the crazies that try to run us down on the side of the road. I have friends in the oil and gas industry that make that and still have several weeks off each year. No one is going to pay you over 100k to just drop and hook except maybe WalMart Transportation, even there I hear it is not as good as it once was, plus it is very difficult to get hired there. Good union ltl jobs pay close, if not over 100k once you have put your time in.

Oilfields too. But you have to hustle - OTR is nothing compared to oilfield work

    All So true.

Those jobs appear to be mostly 40 to 50 hour work weeks, home in bed every night and with full 48 hour week ends off.

Just sharing where the easy money is.

For starters you need a strong work ethic and a good backround. High paying jobs won't take just anyone. You have to have a backround that they like.

For example, I drive for the Post Office. My DC in Indianapolis likes to hire people in this particular order:

    1) People with a military backround
    2) People with a backround with like minded carriers such as UPS and FedEx
    3) People with a backround hauling mail for a contractor

Its not just your driving that counts, but who you drove with.

That being said, there are plenty of fields in the industry that offer what you're looking for. Before I came to the post office, I did heavy haul. I averaged $85,000 a year. Before heavy haul I was with DHL making close to $80,000 a year. LTL pays well.

You can make that with Trimac Transportation in their "Elite Fleet."
Not that easy to qualify though.

Anything oil field will get you close to that figure in a short time frame. Get in on the production side of things and the current slow down won't affect you as much as it has the exploration and extraction side of the patch.

2 yrs. experience hauling hazmat/chemicals. I don't really know the exact details and don't want to speculate. A phone call to get the straight scoop. I do know they love ex-Schneider Bulk drivers because of the excellent training they receive.

    TruckDuo Thanks this.
