i'm a bit annoyed with Florida right now, I requested time off but the day after I got home I got a call from Florida asking me when i'd return, I told them Sunday Morning, but they were trying to get me to return to work that afternoon. I held firm and they were trying to get me to return Friday, eventually I gave in and agreed to return Saturday morning.
they were more concerned with me hauling freight than having the time off I requested? I understand the theory behind "if wheels aint turning you're not earning" but if I requested time off i'm not going to stop what i'm doing to help you. if I am it BETTER be worth my time.
a deadhead to Clovis, I can live with that, but i'm not happy that they were begging me to return to work even though I requested time off. especially if I've been out for 7 weeks -
Don't answer the phone.
Also so since when can you not idle the truck at IRT. Seen on another thread jabber you said you could not idle. -
I didn't know I was allowed to
-
That isn't true at all. My truck runs at every moment that I'm in it if I don't feel comfortable with it shut off, which is almost always. There used to be an incentive to keep your idle time low when the trucks had driver rewards. The new 579s don't have that and soon they're all going to be governed at 65. Those that run faster than that now will be cut back. If you have a truck that will run above 65, enjoy it while you can. It's going away very soon.

You can't tell me your not trying to provoke trouble with this comment? "Oh why jabber why would you quit over driving on of the best trucks on road" get outa here! Trolling at its best!pattyj, HotH2o, Spring Chicken and 1 other person Thank this.

my truck does have Driver rewards (even though every other driver in this company tries to argue with me about it) and it was going 71. Somehow it got deprogrammed to "good" now so its down to 68, which is fine. unless i'm in Texas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah or Nevada but whatever, I'm fine with 68
and yes I idle now, the problem is the heater works a little too well so I can't win no matter what I do -
I didn't say I was going to quit driving, I just said i'd leave if they gave me a Pete
honestly, I don't want to drive a Pete, or KW (personal choice) -
I am too much of a "Steering Wheel Holder" to even think about driving a Pete.
and i'm bad at being a "steering wheel holder" -
True, very true. You're good at whining though. Matter of fact I'd say you have a great natural talent for it. That's good, everybody should be able to excel at something and I think you've found your niche.
Have you ever driven a Pete like IR has? Why not take the Pete anyway? Not liking the truck would give you even more reason to snivel and complain. Or do you just like beating your head against the wall because it feels good when you stop? Too much of that head-wall connection might explain some things about you that many of us have been wondering about.
Jabber, there is one thing I do like about you and that's that you make other drivers look good.. Listening to your foolishness makes me appreciate our drivers all the more.
Happy New Year, kid. May 2015 bring you maturity...if not for your sake then for ours.
