I've always done this. At least since we've gotten digital. Smart advice for anyone.
-
christ man - it is a shame you have to go to such lengths...
(I assume you all are being serious?) -
It's called paranoia. But yes, I do go to that length when I feel the need to.
Getting copies of documents to file,is a good idea really. There's no dispute when it comes time to remember things in the future. With your company, or the IRS.
Just look at some of these company "reviews". Based on some of the post. I would do this from day 1 with some companies.
And after the HELL I went through with the IRS this year. I will be keeping digital copies of all documents that may pertain to "tax" issues and proof of those potential issues. -
Hey, Just because we are paranoid does not necessarly mean people out there are NOT out to get us!
-
I used to think I was paranoid, but then I found out they really are out to get me.
-
Look at it like a gun. It's better to have it and never need to use it!

Good thing one of my many hobbies is photography. Hadn't thunk about shooting the qcom, though. I'll remember that.
And I'll stick in my persistent "use a high quality dash cam" and "save at least 10 minutes of imagery at all times". Use a high resolution camera that offers a clean image at both high and low light conditions, and transits quickly between the two.. yes,the cameras are a tad spendy - good ones are between $500 and $1000. But how much is that, compared to getting burned by a lawyer?
