actually i'm not very good at whining, or complaining. There is a lot of stuff I do not whine or complain about. I've been criticized on many forums and such for being "too logical"
I have never driven a Pete, I never want to. I've been told "but you'll never want to drive anything else ever again"...which is one of the many reasons I don't want to, what will I do when I get released from IRT and end up at a company where they don't have petes then i'll be even more unhappy since i'll find the truck "crap"
actually I have been told that before, I have done a number of things (Truck Driving being one of them, I wont say what the other was) that only encouraged people to do the same thing. people found out I was a truck driver so a number of them looked into truck driving. I also did something else, I wont say what (long story) but since I did it I only encouraged people to do that and have better success than I did. Growing up if I did something people would take an interest in it and do it better. The only exception is in high school, people never tried to out-score me in tests, (which is quite sad, it proves how dumb they are) If i'm smarter than you then you are probably not very smart to begin with, which is just sad because i'm not smart at all, i'm far from it

I was chatting with a fellow IRT driver earlier and I told him about Dispatch trying to get me to return to work sooner, he theorizes that "its because you don't have kids or a family" which I call BS on because its illegal for them to know that information without me telling them (which I don't think I did)
don't worry, I have no plans on ever having offspring or a spouse. I've been standing firm on that decision since I was about 15 -

Spring Chicken Thanks this. -
it looks pretty good with the gold lettering on the trailer!
when did they decide to make their trucks all white?socal Thanks this. -
Pretty much all of the trucks were white back then also. This was the end of the 379's. They had white ones also I think the Sand color was just for Rush Peterbilt to have something else attractive used. The new ones then were the 386's and some fairly new 389's. They also had those condo roof 387's ,guys would have to back in to some unloading facility bays because they were to tall to drive through
It used to be they lease all the trucks from "RUSH" and when I worked there Rush had employees in the shop that handled the oil change, p.m. Etc.
They Lease them from Rush and at a predetermined mileage IRT turns them in for Rush to resale used nationwide.
Also the trucks only ran 65 mph then unless you were part of the elite 007 type guys.
What happened to North American tank lines division?? -
At one time,
it was so much fun to work there,
they had a waiting list to get hired.

and like everything else, the drivers screwed up a good thing.................
socal Thanks this. -
I thought IRT bought-out NAT
-
you're the first person i've seen who actually blamed the drivers for something,, everyone else says everyone else screwed it up (CEO, dispatch, DOT) Drivers are far from innocent, but you get my point
but what did you mean by that statement? what was fun? what did drivers do to screw it up? -
I'm sure just from reading what comes out of your head on here you are probably the best wheel holder around.pattyj Thanks this.
