Not sure if this section is the correct place or not, just figured I'd post what I made and that I'm really happy with the company I'm with. I work in Jacksonville, FL for Eagle Transport.

Please Read: I understand I may not have made as much as other people who haul fuel, so please keep in mind my location and personal situation. I'm single, no kids, and have a 1 bed/bath apartment in Jax. In my opinion, I made out very well and look forward to it getting better. Please don't ask about how many hours I worked, because I honestly have no idea. I averaged working 50-70 hours a week depending on the loads to run.

So, I finally have a full calender year in with my company, even though I have one more paycheck from last year I figured I'd go ahead and post this info, so my actual earnings will be a smudge higher. Anyway, here it goes.

    As of 12/20/14, I grossed $56,667.59.

Good for you! Do you go to the same places for delivery? Or is it always irregular? Do you have certain shift that you work?

    DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

It's irregular, we don't have any set routes.

I work nights 4pm-4am 6 days are week with 2 days off. So my days off rotate, and I get a 4 day weekend every 5 weeks.

I wonder if 4pm-4am is a popular schedule for hauling fuel. I spoke with a fuel hauling company where I live and they had the same schedule available for hire. Those 4 day weekends you get must be nice! Are you paid cpm or hourly, and how much?

We have multiple shifts. We have more people working 5pm-5am than any others. There are only 2 other 4pm-4am drivers. I've talked to keenan drivers and they usually work 6-6. They miss rush hour that way. I like the 4 shift since I get off before morning rush hour.

I'm paid percentage, kind of. All of our loads have set amounts. For instance, if you go to gainesville it's $65. If you have a split which is two stores on one trailer then it adds $15. That's where all that accessory pay comes from. Our lowest load pays $32, that would be a short local in jacksonville. Our highest loads pay over $100. Just depends where you go.

In august our terminal raised the amounts of the load pay so we all got roughly a 5% raise.

Like tonight, I did $225 worth of work in 9.5 hours. I did two stores in hawthorne, then two in Gainesville

I appreciate the info. Thanks for taking the time. Were you OTR before you started hauling fuel? I'm assuming you're getting home every day now. Did your current company train you to pull a tanker?

Yes I was OTR for two years doing van then flatbed.

Also yes, I was trained. I was nervous at first but pulling tankers wasn't as bad as I thought it was going into it.

Yes I'm actually very happy here. It's mainly the people I work with and my terminal manager is really cool. Every safety meeting we have a big cook out with lots of food.

And yes they offer medical benefits but I have no info on those since I'm not currently covered. I just procrastinated when I had to fill out the paperwork and never turned it in.
