Let me start by saying that the dispatch is as rude as you can get! They will use guilt trips, insult a driver, but worse you give it back they sit you at home with no pay saying we will call if we have a load. The main dispatcher is racist and needs to be sued. The owner is actually even worse. They will have you be awake all day then call with a run. Good luck my pay was awful. 200.00 a week! Stay away!
Stay away from Cordell!

Is this company out of Dayton? CTC....pulls those Verspeeten (sp?) trailers once in awhile?

Well Harley,
....i hope you told them to " get it there yourself" and better luck with next job ,the first $200 pay check would be the last pay check for me and if a company ever tells you to wait by the phone ,it's call standby and it's not a freebie ,it's usually like 4 hrs of waiting by the phone ,if they don't want to pay standby ask them what time to be there to punch in and wait , they don't like ti hear this sometimes ,but this is not welfare and if a dispatcher is rude to you tell him you would like have a personal talk with him after work ,saw a driver beat the snot out of dispatcher once in the parking lot ,both were fired of course but i guess sometimes a guy can't resist the temptation to beat an office boy down -
Funny this thread just came up. I was wondering if they were any good. A friend of mine does a dedicated out of Dayton to Texas for them and ask me to be his co-driver. Said pay is like 1200 just two runs

Is this a reefer company?

I think they are entirely van.

My dad has been driving for Cordell for going on 12 years, he come to work for the owner Brian after he left verspeeden Cartage. Alot of his contacts are with gm, hauling part for them. Paper logs, starts out at .42cpm. The drivers running dedicated gm used to get a choice of either taking extra loads during gm shutdown, or take vacation/unemployment when vacation dried up. Gm shutdowns take as much as 7 weeks. This year, my dad said if you took vacation and didn't take one of the extras he had, he wouldn't allow the guys to claim unemployment. He's rather pissed about it. since being on this dedicated run, hes had to run 2 logs just to make it worth it.

Guess this is a company to avoid then.
