That's a good area.if u work McElroy u could be anywhere from Carolina to Louisiana to Mississippi around about area.

 

Just out of curiosity, what is the rider policy there? can you take your wife with you? and when after training I assume. She just come here from Philipines and I don't want to leave her alone at home because she does not know the roads, or have a license yet, but would love to just hang out with me until she is more comfortable with the good old USA. thanks guys.

 

McElroy rider policy will allow for wife after 90 days of solo driving

 

I'm transitioning out of the Army and putting myself threw Truck Driving School. I already got excepted to work for McElroy but I don't know where they mostly work out of in NC. The wife and I are looking for land to put a house down and don't want to be to far away from were the hub will be, if that even maters. Also do they pay my way down to orientation. My recruiter did not give me to much information. Sorry for so many questions, but i thank you all for your help and time.

Im trying to find out some recent info on Mcelroy. Trying to decide between Mcelroy or Melton

Would you mind answering a few questions about McElroy?...
1. Do they do Orientation just in Al or do they do orientation in all their terminals? I ask because I'm in North Carolina and there is a terminal in Pleasant Hill.

2. Do they pay for transportation to and from Orientation? Do they pay meals and hotel for Orientation?

3. How long is Orientation? How long after orientation do you go out for training and how long is training?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm looking into different companies to start my truck driving career in and would like to know as much info as possible.

FOR NEW DRIVERS:
Being that you are out of N.C. you would be going thru the pleasant hill N.C. terminal for your first 2 weeks of training, these first 2 weeks are yard training backing up and tarps and classroom videos, pre trips and piss test hair test and agility test

Mcelroy will reimburse you .20 cpm for one way there and one way home in your vehicle, they will pay 500 each week for these weeks and they will pay to put you in a hotel 2 new drivers per room

Food is on you, you can grab breakfast at the hotel for free

Transportation is on you to get from hotel to terminal, there were 6 people in my group....get to know these guys and carpool together

 

The next 4 weeks you are put with a trainer, they will find the closest available trainer to you...if too far from home then they will pay for a hotel for the weekend

These 4 weeks are also 500 each week
