I have never heard of that before, how does that work?
-
The tow truck put air in my tanks. You know what that little thing you pump up a tire on a bike? It looks like that. He hooked his hose up to that.
-
Can't you just hook glad hands from one tractor to another tractor that's idling then push in the red trailer brakes button on the tractor not running that needs charged up with air and let it charge up?
-
Yes you can, done it a time or two...rollin coal Thanks this.
-
I know how a tow truck does it, they pull out the drain valve on an air tank and put a fitting in there and run a line from the tow truck to yours. Not everyone keeps fittings like that around incase they need to air up another truck.
-
Cool, I had no idea that it would work like that. Figured that there would be a valve to prevent air from going in the opposite direction of what it normally does.
-
Yes you can do both ways. The issue wasn't the air, it was the truck not starting. It was down pouring and overall a chitty day. Go figure the day I needed to bring the truck to overhaul
-
But with the system charged you could have pull started your rig with an F150. You only have to pull one about 5 feet and the motor will fire.
-
If pull starting in a parking lot you can always back off the parking brakes and pull it. You will still have steer axle brakes and possibly even brakes on one drive axle to stop with, more than enough for what needs to be done.
