As someone with a lifetime of trucking industry experience please take this advice with you no matter where you work. You and the truck are tools the company uses to make money. All the truck stop chatter about "my truck has this, I'd never drive a pos like that, etc. isn't worth the time it takes to listen to it. Establish yourself with the company as someone who gets the job done, once you have done that, you will be in a position to ask for the truck you want, the type freight, the routes, etc. be demanding early and your employer will judge everything you do with that in the back of their minds. I've hired and fired so many drivers for a lot of reasons, but the most common is they made themselves not worth the trouble of dealing with for the performance!
When I started I felt it was a good run if the rain didn't run in the rust hole in the roof too bad and if the air powered windshield wipers actually worked! So good luck and safe travels my friend!gntorres61 and JohnBoy Thank this. -

I apologize if I was a little preachy there, been dealing with a lot of drivers who seem to think the truck makes them, not the other way around and they act like if something isn't perfect they don't have to work, yet they always want more money.
JohnBoy Thanks this. -

Hey Mike, welcome to Abilene. I wouldn't really count on being able to choose your truck. It's usually based on what Bill has available. I don't think you will be disappointed. The trucks are almost all 2013 or newer and well maintained.
