Made delivery this AM. At this Dollar Tree D/C, SNI runs a lot of dedicated out of here. They have about 40 new trailer sitting here. Only release the 99XXXX, 95XXXX and 94XXXX trailers to OTH drivers. Headed 92 miles to Chehalis for a live load that I am going to relay and drop in Portland. I P/U a relay in Portland and head 561 miles to Woodland CA. 3 trucks in front of me. Might be a couple hours before I am out of here.

I rn into the same thing in Indianapolis. All the decent trailers had kingpin locks on them. I picked up one that had a flat, mudflap was falling off and a light was out. Went straight to Express maintenance, got it fixed and headed down the road. I hate wasting time looking for empties. (Chicago is by far the worst)

just started teaming with my brother about 2 weeks ago. I thought we might have pissed dispatch off. . We have also been getting short runs. Currently in Ohio, headed to Wisconsin then down to Dallas.. it has been mostly 500-700 mile runs for us.. After we drop and hook in Dallas, we will be picking up a relay and driving 33 miles for a live unload........

I really do hope freight picks up soon..

I Have been told that by the end of february it'll start picking up. The last two weeks have been rough. Normally I don't have time to post this much but since I'm sitting 2-5 hours a day waiting on shippers or receivers to empty the trailer I have time. I'm sitting in Springfield Missouri headed to a Walmart DC in Menomonie, WI.

It could be worse....the weather is favorable this week!

That is true, it could be a lot worse. I am looking forward to the 50+ degree weather in Dallas this week.

I don't know if I would use WD-40 on the brakes. It acts as a lubricant and I wouldn't want that on my brakes. Also not sure how the chemicals would affect/damage the shoes.

It's been a few days since I have been here. So on Saturday I drove 439 miles and delivered my load and was a little short on recap hours so I decided to take a reset since I was near my daughters house. I also wanted to watch the Seahawk game.

On Monday, I left Woodland and drove 93 miles to Modesto for a D/H going 343 miles to Rancho Cucamongo D/H. Made it to Fontana OC to have 2 new tires put on. Shop said trailer needed PM done to it also. They worked on it over night and I got it back it AM. During my pretrip tail light out on tractor, back to the shop I go and had it replaced along with a broken wire. In and out in 45 minutes. Great. Delivered load to Rancho Cucamongo.

New load had me taking my MT 57 miles to Torrence and dropping and B/T back 27 miles to S El Monte to P/U a relay and go 116 miles to San Diego. My appointment was for between 11:00-13:30 in San Diego. I called my DBL and told him, I was not able to make till around 15:00 due to being held up at both drops. He called C/S to find out if that was ok. They said they would unload me when I got there. At the stop in Torrence, I had to wait an hour in line inside an office before the told me where to park my MT. There was about 10 drivers ahead of me. The 2 guys in front of me told me as they were leaving to get to a dock they were number 300. They were happy about that. Said they were going to be there the rest of the day. The place was a zoo with straight trucks and semi's both fighting for parking spots that did not exist. They had a guard actually directing traffic in the parking lot.

I get to San Diego at 15:00, office lady was already gone. Not a good sign. I have been here once before, so I go find the forklift driver and talk with him. He tells me he can't u load me till tomorrow at 08:00. I tell him C/S called and got the OK. Sorry Charlie. Call my DBL and explain to him. He is not a happy camper. He had just gave me a pre assignment to go from Moreno Valley to SLC. A nice 700 mile trip. So here I sit waiting for a 08:00 live load. Only 223 miles today.

New pre assignment has my going 114 miles back to Fontana for a live load and going 1009 miles to Vancouver WA. Not a bad trade off. Happy camper again.

Finally get an assignment with some "meat" on it. Time sensitive load from Lenexa, KS to Hagerstown, MD (1100 miles). We were in Lenexa by 2 p.m. and couldn't PU until 1:00 am. Did the 3 way and let them know we wouldn't have any issue getting the load there on time. Showed up at shipper and they were a half hour late getting it loaded. Checked the mileage and it's 72 miles further than what was planned for. Stopped at the Edwardsville OC for fuel and they told us the trailer needed repairs and we couldn't leave until it was done. That took an hour of our time. So...we lost an hour and a half on a time sensitive assignment and had to drive straight through just to get the load there on time. We were 20 minutes early.

Sitting again waiting to get another load at the same place head to Texas. Have to wait 8 hours for that one to be ready. When we arrive in Texas they want to do a PM-B on our truck even though I had a PM-A done two weeks ago. We'll lose a lot of time for that one. So it looks like this week will be a low week also. By Thursday evening we might have 3600 miles. Hoping for a couple good loads to at least hit 5000 miles for the week. We will see!
