Yesterday I graduated from truck driving school and have 3 job offers on the table. They are Crete carriers, Prime and Tyson foods. I live near Fort Worth. Drivers, which would you choose and why?

Crete wouldn't even be on my plate . I am kinda partial to prime they pay good but company drivers do get those little trucks. I have no experience with Tyson but if your ultimate goal is to go local you may have a better chance working yourself into a local gig with tyson

I used to work for Crete, they have a very nice terminal in Wilmer, it has been a few years, but I had some problems with some dispatchers, I would say I contributed as much to the situation as they did. I am sure things have changed though, Crete offered me a national gig if I come back now, but I prefer regional or local. My advice if you are wanting to go local and stay local, Tyson, but if you want to get some OTR experience, I personally, would say Prime, but that is only my opinion, and I have never worked for Prime, I am currently in the National Guard, preparing to retire and work for a semi local company here in Utah. home every other night type of gig.

Tyson being a private fleet would be better option...better benefits all the way around.

I'd go with Tyson for the reefer experience & nicer trucks to drive.
    Trucks run 70 mph also.
The good part of pulling reefers is, you're hauling food and people have to eat year round, so there's always loads to haul.

If I was considering those 3, I would rank them:
Tyson - as said, private fleets are usually better all around
Crete - Large company, pays well, benefits are average
Prime - Not on my radar, but have heard more bad than good...but it is the bad comments that get more air.

    Snowshoes,
What about Pride Transport and their fancy trucks with XM radio, satellite TV, refrigerator?

As things are right now, I am juggling between 2 options, one is Pride, the other Randy Sorensen, Pride is rapidly taking the lead. Randy has some nice trucks, only 19 trucks; 20 trucks when Randy decides to stop driving, he told me yesterday that I would get one of two available trucks if I come to work for him, one is his own truck, both are very nice Pete 389's, his truck is older (actually a 387) but has been the baby of the fleet, so it has been well taken care of. The other is a 2012 and the oldest in the fleet. Pride is offering me more per mile, both offering adjacent state runs, Randy's trucks are governed at 70 and will stay that way as long as the drivers don't speed.

Pride runs elogs, and Randy will avoid elogs as long as FMCSA will allow it...Both said I can start as soon as I retire from the Guard, Pride wants me to go out with another driver for a week to work the rust off the edges (Nothing wrong with that, better safe than sorry) Randy will put me to work solo right away. (I took a road test yesterday, did well.)

Tyson. Worked for Crete if you are on the bigger you will be forced to get a sleep study. No miles, trainers suck. Only good thing is the wilmer yard guy comes by with bbq everyday at noon. Prime would be second. They were my backup. Only bad thing is governed at 55mph.
