I replaced oil cooler myself. no leaks.. oil pressure came back to normal, running temp normal again, still I am getting charcoal grey matter in radiator, oh, and clumps of oil looking stuff coming out of blow by tube. does anyone know why this is?

Hi rbell, not a good sign. Are you getting that shlum gooey on the dipstick too? Sounds like a cracked head, block, or hopefully just a head gasket. What kind of motor?

Does this mean you had antifreeze in the oil as well and it lost pressure? When you have antifreeze in the crankcase it creates a slime inside the engine which may be what you're seeing come out of the blow by tube. The gray matter in the radiator could just be oil that you didn't get cleaned out when you flushed the cooling system. If everything else seems to be normal it's possible you didn't do a thorough enough job cleaning up the mess created by the bad oil cooler.

here's the history= inframe done 300,000 miles ago, with new head and turbo.. engine runs fine. no smoke. took it to w.w.Williams in Columbia sc. the flushed the system, cleaned injectors. pressurize tested coolant system and said everything good.. then told me to run it and see if it happened again, well, I ran it, then it happened again, and I replaced the oil cooler myself, ran it for one week and grey stuff is back. no water in oil on stick, just an oil leak where bull gear housing meets the engine. just cant figure it out.. oh yeah, it a 1992 Detroit 60 series 12.7......
