I have a 99 w900 with a 3406e 475 that has low power, it builds 35# of boost, runs really smooth, it just doesn't pull well.
I have checked air filters replaced fuel filters didn't seem to change anything. Anyone got idea for me to check?
    Thanks, Matt

`When you pull off exp/way if you dont have a heat gun, spray some water out of spray bottle to see if all cil. on EX. manifold steam the same when you spray them a weak injector wont get man. as hot. the cat shop can do a test also but at a price?

it boost 35 psi, so even if the cac leaks it would build power. kind of weird that it builds 35 psi and no power, you would think if it had no power it would not boost that high.

What is your fuel pressure? I am not sure if you have a fuel pressure gauge, but low fuel pressure could be your problem. My 3406E runs around 75-80psi, but a lot of guys shim the spring to run about a 100-105psi for better throttle response.

Mjtrucking,I had the same problem, same truck, and motor,it's hard to fathom, but try this fix! The fuel tank vents,on mine collapsed, and the best thing to do is,unscrew them from the top of the tank, and cut the check valve out of the caged part of the vent, and throw it away, and clean your rubber tubes out,and put back on,it's a simple no $$$,out of pocket fix, just be sure to come back, and let others know,if this helped,or not... PS, you can see my thread on the kenworth section!

I had a 550 file put in, that helped the tech repaced the fuel lines at the same time, it still feels doggy but its better. Ill try the vents on Monday and let you know thanks Matt

Yeah Matt, sounds just like how my truck acted! I had a 600 American brakesaver file,a fuel temp harness,a fs1023 fleetguard primary fuel filter, and 74 -19 fuel numbers, fuel pump shimmed up to 100 psi,and a grand rock aerocab true dual exhaust kit, made it run ok,but it never really woke it up,until I removed the check valves out of the tank vents, and I haven't ever replaced the fuel lines, from the tanks,to the junction block, just the junction block forward! Just please let everyone know,if this helps you out

Wrong it will build boost with a cac leak sometimes, and won't pull for nothing. Boost pressure and fuel go hand in hand. Takes fuel to make boost. Definitely pull the balls out of vents as you can do that in a truck stop parking lot. If that doesn't help check fuel pressure and for boost leaks.
