Has anyone put the Conestoga XP on a Stepdeck?
I have a 50' Doonan Combo step I want to install a sliding tarp system on, 10' upper deck 40' lower deck.
Conestogas are getting better and more functional by the day it seems but the best one Iv seen so far seems to be the Conestoga XP. There may be a better one I haven't come across yet.

Just looking for anyones opinion that put one of these on a stepdeck, are you happy with the functionality and or setup of the actual system, is there anything you would change or order differently next time etc.
Im not asking if it's a good idea to get a Conestoga, I have my own work and what we haul would work very well in a Conestoga, I'm just looking for info on the best system.
Money isn't an issue, Im looking for durability, functionally, ease & speed of use over price.
    Thanks

I own a few of them on flats.... The Conestoga brand is most durable of the three I own.

    Rob,
A good friend of mine has one on a long step. He had them make it so he has a little more height in the front and back, as the tarp system follows the arch in the trailer.
Worked great for him and he has had no issues I know of with it.

    Cheers Martin!
I was thinking about that, being a combination trailer I don't have a big arch like an all alumium trailer but there is a slight arch. I was considering buying a brand new all aluminium low pro trailer and mounting a Conestoga on it but being as the step I have will work and it's paid for I figured might as well throw one on it and see how it goes.

How have you been doing? I'll give you a bell this week.

Thanks for the reply strollinruss, have you had the XP model yet? One other thing, how does it hold up in severe wind or snow sitting on top? Did you get the extra braces?

No extra braces, just the run of the mill basic system. I'm a big fan of these trailers and plan on purchasing another by mid spring, good luck!
