The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program receives funds from the United States Department of Labor to partner with county agencies in order to provide vocational training and support services to students who are eligible for sponsorship. For a list of approved College of the Sequoias vocational offerings

Students may be eligible for sponsorship if they are:
    1. Unemployed due to plant closure
    2. Unemployed
    3. Under-employed
    4. Economically disadvantaged

I won't whine much about 2 to a truck. My thought there is that (I'm guessing) you'd spend 8 hours a day in the truck - half of that driving. Peaches and cool for the student, but gotta be hard on the instructor. It's bad enough having to drive one, but having to teach at the same time?

The school I attended was one on one - and the instructors got a break between students.

There are local schools here that were buzzing around with 5 to 7 students in the cab and calling it 'drive time'!!!

I too am about to start school to acquire me CDL. A Long time ago I got my Class B in California and remember that the PERMIT test was not really that difficult.

I too am one that stresses at the thought of a TEST but, R E L A X.....you will do fine.

i have been working on the pre-trip part and have been doing the practice test.

they have a lot of info on this site , i believe it would help any newbie as myself

i also just got in a video for the pre-trip and all of the inspections .,
this is a SWIFT training video , (i got off EBay ), but it looks to be a very informable DVD , its running now, so i will see when its done

one thing i seen on it already is the slack adjusters they say no more than 1.75" of play
i do believe its 1" of play tho
    so far video looks good

I like how this board works. Someone else can put something up about http://www.testanswers.com and if I respond that I had a couple of questions that I couldn't find on "testanswers.com"...then I get censored and receive infractions.

So which one of the bosses did I pi$$ off exactly?

huh - you'd have to ask them. THe only thing I can see is that they thunk it was a dead link.

On the other hand, I got a wrist slap a while back. A .. Finn, I think, was asking about 5th wheels here in the states. I dug up a link to the largest manufacturer and posted that - suggesting it would be a good place to start. Got spanked because staff thunk I was advertising. Looking back at the thread, I still can't wrap my brain around it.

that's kind of why i said i didn't think i could put a link in my post ,
as it is a for profit site . i also see they raised there price on it

funny i bought the stuff there but cant log in to there members part
i will have to email them to ask why ,

the forums are kind of like the test , read the posting policy ,
kind of go's to the retaining things in memory :biggrin_2552: I have to read things at least twice

but still free and I'm liking this more and more

I was at the license office a few years ago "re-getting" my CDL. The lady that took my written test told me that a lot of people fail one or more portions of the tests and have to re-do them. I don't know if it's just not preparing themselves sufficiently - or - from what I have seen on the roadways lately - they just don't belong behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer rig - EVER.
