Do drivers?
*yes I'm a driver, and broker loads. It goes both ways. Unfortunately this industry is known for the stories of the one that got away. Like politicians - if the mouth is moving you will wish you wore boots. Yes there are great honest drivers and brokers out there but to filter them out of the pile of human debris is a chore. -
I always tell the truth, it's part of my business model.

While I've only been at this brokerage for a few weeks, I pride myself on being honest.

YES. the worst thing you can do for your business is to lie to the people who are literally in charge of the physical aspect of your business. That is a good way to be blacklisted among good carriers and gain a bad reputation. I like to think the brokers in my office have more respect for their OWN business than that (alhough I know there are some ######### people who only care about money and the now not the future)

yes this is true unfortunately, but theres a difference (to us at least) of actually holding the order with complete details that is plainly given to our company VS bidding on a load that 9 or 10 other 3PL's are also bidding on that we have a maybe 50-75% chance of getting depending on the lane. We aren't stupid, we know generally what range we need to be in in order to get those loads. Were not about to string along a truck who we KNOW is higher than what they will pay just to see if maybe MAYBE we can get the load and make some money at the same time. If we bid and we have a truck in mind we are honest with them, will give them a time frame and will kindly ask them to hold their truck for a short period of time. If customer does not get back to us then of course we understand if that truck has to look elsewhere. Are other brokers like this? I hope the majority are BUT I know there are a a lot who aren't. They lie, they will string along a few trucks, give them sugar coated details, etc...they are stupid. And they give the good brokers a bad name.Flyer Thanks this.

You understand if the truck has to look elsewhere ? Ghee, how generous.
This is why I go direct whenever possible instead of relying on 9 brokers to trip over themselves to sell MY service for less than the other one. And waste my time. Why do you do it ? If you don't have a load why even post it and pretend ? -
Oh, you're a produce broker, never mind. lmao !

We as customers, brokers and carriers need to have full supply chain visibility. It should be a mandate to provide all parties with GPS tracking for shipments. So we all save time and money of actually knowing real time where shipments are.
BrokeringBad Thanks this.
