Great post, Bill. Thanks for the clarification. I misunderstood the two different opportunities you provide. I think the numbers are debatable, but then, I negotiate for a living....lol...

I run under the Covenant lease program her. Iam the first class 8 put on in this program. i just completrd my first week out for them, and it has been good.

I booked my own loads in 07' & 08' but went back to mileage programs because customers were taking 6-9 months to pay, and factoring was getting pricey. Running here on percentage imo is as good a deal as it gets. I really dont care to do the booking and the headache of billing again. I have the benefits of a large carrier behind me that takes a lot of expenses off my plate, but I work in a small company atmosphere as now I deal with F2F people and not the corporate side. I still have load refusal priveledges, and can have a say in what and where I run. But to this point I have trusted in the office crew and they didnt let me down. I did $5,200 on 1989mi this week.

This may not do for some guys out there, but for me its a great deal. In the future I will consider adding trucks as a fleet owner. Its a ways off, but I see it as a very achievable goal.

I have read the posts about F2F and the Covenant merge as well. However, I am having trouble finding any info about the Covenant Expedited side of the business. I looked at the Covenant site, and it's all about "Teams" with them now it seems. Nothing on the Expedited side at all. Could one of you please point me in the right direction to find out some info about the Covenant part of F2F?

    Thanks!

Every time I talk to farm to fleet there rates are absurd, and one time one of their drivers straight up told me on a Friday afternoon that he just sits and hopes for $4.00 a mile late in the day. I have had to use them and there always good carriers, but there rates are absurdly high, and I only use them when I am absolutely dying on a load.

Lol, might have been me but maybe not. You know how the game goes right? You're making bank right now I would assume? Nothing's absurd about a
market rate that someone willingly pays.

On the reverse side, a broker offering rates so low knowing the market conditions, knowing someone will take it, is that absurd?

You won't ever see in 5,000+ posts here where I ever said it was.
