I took a course through the govmt for driving. Applied to schneider, they do training with you and send you out with someone for a couple of weeks. Left after a few years and went to tanker, delivering oxygen, nitrogen. Hoses can be heavy, but it is possible to do. I don't have a lot of upper body strength, but managed to get the hoses in the tubes. Co2 is another thing you could do, hoses are just rubber and easier to deal with.

Thanks. Its good to hear that people are finding work after taking the course. Ive heard some "stories" about that. It does look like there could be some options out there for me.

Logging is easy. You throw ropes over the load and tighten them down....that's as hard as it gets. Money is ok, but inconsistent. Camp living unless you relocate. Lots of old guys doing it around here that quite frankly couldn't walk a mile if they had to....or do a push up. THe driving itself takes a little skill.

Chain up sometimes, but that's not hard. Never thought about that. Chains can be heavy but you only have to carry them a few feet.

There is some stuff i would have to just try to see if i can do it. It has a lot to do with how frequently I would be doing it. One of my wrists has been permanently fused and no longer bends. The other will eventually be fused as well but hopefully not for a while. I also have some trouble with my shoulders. I am waiting to see a specialist to get some help with that. I am always going to have to deal with some pain. I just need to find the job thats a good fit. fortunately im not gonna be in a state of desperation when I am done the course and have a bit of time to try and find something suitable.I dont mind working my way up the pay scale over time. For now I am more interested in the long term.
