Years ago, JB Hunt used to haul van conversions in a van trailer, picked up at a local converter. I don't know how they tied 'em down, but they would put 3 in a trailer.

put your MC or DOT in here:http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_menu.prc_menuclick on the "html version"your insurance on file has to be more than 1MThen go to http://www.safersys.org/CompanySnapshot.aspxput in your dot numberlook for the "cargo carried" section, that's where it says if you can run motor-vehicles as cargo or not. There are exceptions I'm sure, I know household-goods can transport a car if it's going with a house move.
those two sites are a good place to check and make sure your carrier is up to date on filings/insurance/authority.

Last year when I pull up to a Dodge dealership, a swift truck was unloading 2 sprinter vans off his 53' box trailer onto a rollback. Talked to the driver (o/o) afterward, was told swift gets them out of TX and it's one of their regular account. They pay somewhere around $1.25/mile to Northeast. I just kept my mouth shut and walked away

And how exactly will you load/unload the cars into a van trailer?

I started driving in the van line industry and they hauled cars using rachet straps with hooks on the end. The hook end to the car and the other end hooks to etracks. Four straps per car. Then we put decking over the car and filled that up too.

We have two bars welded on the back of our trailer and a set of aluminum ramps to load car into the back of the trailer. We have 4 recessed D rings in the floor to tie them down with. The trailers that we have that can do this are Kentucky Trailer "Dry Electric Vans" according to their website. The bar is made out of stainless steel so that it will not rust and the plates that support iy are 5/8 inch thick welded to the bumper. It works very well except where the vehicle have low ground clearance.
