I had this same scenerio as the OP many years ago only with frozen french fries. I couldnt move the tandems so I climbed inside the trailer and carried by hand the entire last 2 pallets to the nose of the trailer. All went well out of the scalehouse but when I made it to the receiver, they began to unload the trailer everything came to a stop and they were going to refuse the entire load because I walked on top of the load leaving footprints and crushing some of the cases. They claimed the load was unsanitary (no shoe covers, hair net, gloves, tyvek suit, and exposed the load to an open evironment). After hours and hours of phone calls and stressing out, the end result was they took the load except the 20-30 cases I had damaged from walking on.

OK? When you picked up the load, why did you not fix weights before you left? This is trucking 101, California won't let you pass with just 1 hole over length, I have had Banning scale make me slide 1 hole, 1000 LBS in Cal is a big no no, if you knew you where at 35000 in Texas, you should have had it fixed, what type of seal! Metal or plastic, or ??, if metal, I've been able to pop open, and move some freight then make it look sealed with the same seal, but regardless, Banning will not let you leave unless you fix, you are going to have to break seal, fix weight, then get going, no other option

I bet he does have 5 years exp, but has not run into Cali much. He was running accross the country at 42 and weight was legal and then gets to Cali and they make em" slide forward to 40 feet and now he's overweight on the rear.

1000 lbs at 5 lbs per bird = 200 birds.... Hmmmm I can see a frozen chicken bowling tournament.

You can also call a food bank and donate 1k pounds of chicken to them with the caveat that they have to come pick it up..... Lose entire load or 1k?

I think you're right, if he was at the 40 foot mark and had legal weights in Texas, and the load shifted forward, he would be lighter on the the tandems.

I will drive out of route for a scale just to be safe....when I get loaded, I sent a message to my dspr that im going to a scale....if they have a issue w out of route, then they can send someone to take this load..there are always others...and I have done this quite a few times
