    So one tarp would be

    Length = 46'
    Width = 21'

    Two tarps would be

    Length = 24'
    Width = 21'

    I would get 2 tarps with 2 extra feet in length. Each. I got two 22 ft long 6 ft drop tarps. With those if the load is over 40 ft long I have to use a 3rd middle tarp piece. The overlap i get on a 40 foot load is small enough I need to strap it in windy weather.

    Im just using my lengths as examples. Id go 2 foot over on each tarp when deciding length.

    I've never really seen the need for 8' drop tarps. 6' will cover pretty much everything
