I'm glad she figured out how to get that one to idle, we have a bunch of Cascadias, all 2012 or newer, and the idle is different on any of the few I have driven, they even changed a parameter on the one I drive, to where it won't fast idle above 1100 rpm, which won't keep it up to temp in cold conditions running the defroster,( out in the middle of nowhere on a cold night while loading).

The last one I drove that wasn't my usual needed to be idled up within 2 minutes or it would shut down, my usual will idle at any speed it will set. Even slow idle.

As far as the APU, it isn't uncommon that those have problems, actually, that is fairly common, from my own experiences and observing APU equipped trucks of others not using the APU.

I even renamed the ones we used to have, "Waste of Resources." Incorrect fluid levels were the least of the problems those things experienced.

As a team we've never dealt with an APU. We either run or get a hotel. I guess I shouldn't have expected it to work because the rest of the truck was an absolute bucket. And I've driven some junk, lemme tell ya.

We had plenty of winter gear, food and water. Thank goodness or this could have gone downhill real fast.

The fast response here was truly a lifesaver for us tonight.

Thank you guys so much. <<<group hug>>>

You might be wondering why no one has responded, look in the lower left corner of the last post. No one has posted here in over two yrs.

Old threads are revived all the time. Although that must be time consuming going back that many pages.
