Anyone know anything about an old California LTL called CME?

This caught my eye D.Y. I worked with a guy in the mid 70s that had previously worked for cal-motors out of san luis obispo, ca. I was 22 & Mac was in his late 50s. (Mac was a TOUGH old man)As the story went, Mac was in some traffic on the old Nimitz freeway in the bay area, Hwy 17 now the 880. Some 3 punk kids were giving him a bad time, slammin on the brakes, throwin cigarettes at his cab, the finger you know the type. So traffic comes to a stop & Mac gets out & the punks are going to whip him!! Mistake!! Mac whipped all 3 right there in the freeway. He was the talk at every Cal Motors dock for months. If you run into an old timer he might remember this story.sa

@Jimla208 I have a friend that drove for years for CME out of LA name Bill Arthur. Ever hear of him? Did you ever run up 101 thru Santa Maria?

 

my father worked for cal-motors from 1946 to 1958 as a line driver they ran out of san luis obispo half of them ran south belonging to local #224 Los Angeles the others north local #85 San Francisco
