Nope, big companies will always take it to get their truck out. Deal with it. Fact of trucking life.hawkjr Thanks this.

when you go shopping and the store decides to raise its prices on the thing you're about to buy just because you wont like it, as a matter of fact you wont shop there
so why should they just pay your higher rate to make you happy?
its wrong for somebody else to do the exact same thing you want to do? -
What are you talking about? Did you ever buy a truck or are you just trolling again. Prices rise and fall with supply and demand in stores all the time. Show me 5 stores with Tylenol amd i'll show you 5 different prices for the same product. Show me a town in the south where they're calling for snow and i'll show you grocery stores with no milk, bread, or butter and you will pay double if you can find these things at a convenience store. That is how everything works. When there are 20 loads to 1 truck and they need a truck they will pay what they have to in order to book one. If there is 1 load for every 20 trucks someone looking to haul that load is going to do so at a very reduced rate. There is nothing evil or untoward about it. It's what provides balance to everything.
FLATBED, Hurst, Ukumfe and 1 other person Thank this. -

freight is, and always will be, a race to the bottom
if Jeff is going to haul it for $2.15, Joe will for $2 and Swift will haul it for $1.50 guess who gets it?
they don't care that Jeff and Joe have bills to pay they will give it to the cheapest guy -
To bad it isn't as simple as your post dictate but whatever..
-
You really have no idea what you're talking about. That may be true with the junk carriers like you have and do work for.
Lots of shippers pay for quality not quantity.dannythetrucker and Ruthless Thank this. -
Jeff delivers on time every time, joe delivers on time every time but is morbidly obese and speaks his mind and angers receivers, and has gained a negative reputation in that regard, swift will pick it up and it might get there on time, maybe 50% of the time they manage to pull it together. Oh, and the load is product that a factory line must have in order to keep the production going. Or maybe it is fresh berries, which have a 7 day shelf life once harvested. Maybe it is a crane going to a job site where workers are waiting to use said crane upon delivery. What is the value of time, again?
-
Thats true as well.
I've only been at a year and once in a while I get a call from a broker I made nice nice with and he asks where I am or lets me know of an up coming large shipment requiring a lot trucks but the freight will need expidited service.
Seems they never call when I need them :/
HurstSkate-Board and SheepDog Thank this.
