They should fire the guy for that statement.
As for points, if you get an inspection - level 1,2 or 3 - it is the only way csa points appear.
Outside of that - nope. -
You're right about the inspection being the only way to get points. Even if they put an overweight on the inspection report there isn't any CSA points as the FMCSA did away with that basic. I also agree that the safety guy should be run off, there's no reason to spout dribble when you don't know the facts way too many guys believe everything that they here.Grouch Thanks this.

One of our drivers got nailed at the Rainbow scale for 260 lbs over on the rear axle, he didn't scale before he left because he wanted to get off early, then he came back and screamed at the forklift driver for screwing up his CSA score. Stupid all the way around.
G.Anthony Thanks this. -
everything is always someone elses fault
except stupidity............well it seems to be genetic in some families -
Well, now you know, Mousette. I got that same tandem overweight last year, because of the bridge law, (trusted a shipper, never a good idea) but they let me move a bunch of pet food into the front of the trailer and got legal. Pretty miserable, 20 bags, about 5' head space, crawling over pallets in 100 degrees. I earned my escape, but taking a chance? Sometimes it works, sometimes not so well. I thought those CHP guys were always there, but I just got the in-cab pass last week. Had a lot of weight in there, was very glad to skate by. The sad part? I know I'll take a chance somewhere again.

Size & Weight
Q: Will overweight violations noted on roadside inspection reports affect a carrier's score in CSA?
A: No. Size and weight violations were removed from the now obsolete Cargo Related BASIC when the Methodology was updated in August 2010.Moussette Thanks this. -
I always find CSA threads funny. I realize that people are worried about their CSA score as companies have put the fear of you know who into their drivers. But have any of you really looked at how hard it is to get your CSA score high enough to even worry about it? If your a professional driver then CSA shouldn't bother you at all. We all make mistakes, an over weight ticket (not that it counts) a bad turn, getting lost. Hey if your trying to do 15 mph over the speed limit a couple of times in 3 years? Then good get off my roads as I have a family and you are unsafe. If you get one or two tickets every few years for minor stuff? What in the world do you have to worry about? I have no clue what my CSA score is. I'm willing to say it's probably 0 right now. No speeding tickets, log violations I did get a ticket for a license plate missing from a company trailer. That may or may not show. Had a car run a red light and hit me. No ticket for me there. I guess what I'm trying to say is, drive like a pro and forget CSA.
