the other day I saw a truck at the Flying J in New Castle, PA (I think) and this red prostar hauling a van was pulling out of a spot, on its trailer had something along the lines of 9MPG is our goal written on the bottom (what a weird tagline)
is that actually possible? especially with a van?
is it possible? how?
9MPG, is that possible?

I think so. With a trailer tail, wide tires (no lugs), light loads, good routes , the right driver, a bunk heater and a manual trans....yeah i think so.

Jrivas23 Thanks this. -
Yes it is. Any light load with a high top prostar or Cascadia pulling van can do that or better.

With a skirt, medium load, no wind/tail wind, and flat(ish) roads, I have managed 9.3. I'm in an '02 Columbia. Yes, that's with a van. I don't have/use cruise control, my guess is that company pushes their drivers to run 55-58mph and use the cruise.
What those silly advertisements and signs don't tell you is that is likely under LABORATORY conditions. That and goals are awesome... I always goal.Jrivas23 Thanks this. -

Contact Henry, he does it all the time. -
our automatics get the best mileage driven properly
-
Even manuals. But it's funny how much it all depends upon the driver eh?
-
only driving around IN improves fuel mileage
-
It depends a lot on drivers, but the new autos in the new cascadias are awesome. I only wish I had one
. I might trade my old Cascadia in for one this year. Those I know that have them are getting incredible MPG.

9mpg?... It's BS
