    I recently got my CDL Permit, and I am looking to take the next step. I currently reside on the East Coast in Central Florida.

    There's a good community college CDL school near your area, but don't remember the name of it. Google for it unless you want a trucking company school.

    I have heard of it, I believe it was Mid Florida Tech. Though I believe my only option financially is Company Sponsored Training.

    I sent in an application to the one I would like to attend and left a voicemail with the recruiter. I don't really believe there is anything that could hinder me from being hired except for a 1 yr gap of unemployment.

    Great!! You will have fun and should learn a lot, classroom is kind of boring or at least mine was. But with that said lots of good info in the classroom portion.
