Well if you want a Dashcam buy one, don't buy a Dashcam/GPS/Tablet.

I have YET to see ANY videos from this RandMcnally Dashcam/Tablet.

Instead I would look at Dual Camera Dashcams for that much $$.
I am talking about one of the cameras being detached.
Guess If i had one like that I would try to set it up to to point at one of the mirrors.
Never looked at them though honestly.

Yeah I'm looking for super awesome picture quality and plenty of recording time. And it must loop over itself when memory runs out. The Rand McNally sounds cool but I already have a GPS built into my peoplenet tablet.

I appreciate all the help. Keep it coming.

If I were to ever buy my own rig I always imagined having 4 cameras. One on each mirror looking back, one on my windshield looking forward and one on the back of my trailer pointed down.

As far as cameras go I've been thinking about the Garmin dash cam 20. I may look into this one though

Yeah I don't remember how I found this one but it seemed to have all the bells and whistles I'd need. Image quality, recording over old video, and tons of storage is a must for me.

There was a review on YouTube somewhere I think.

I use the the Sony Blackvue DG-550...Its served me well and has come way down in price. There is no way at all... that I'd drive a block without a dash cam to cover my arse. As you all are aware of...If you happen to be involved in any problem involving driving...You're in the wrong...no matter what ! That's why a dash cam is your best friend. Its saved my rear end a few times now.

I've been researching some cameras... Seems that Go-pro is a very good one... but too expensive and too big... very visible from outside... Looking for something more compact... so, I found this one

Now.. trying to find out more about it... seems the quality of images is great... does anyone here have this camera?

The zetronix is overpriced junk. Google them.

The fact they want to sell you an add on 64gb memory card for $90 should have tipped you off.
    :)

This video is from a dashcam you can get online for $80 to $130, depending on supplier.

The day and night video is good.

It has a built-in GPS which does next to nothing.
Ideally it would be better for big truck if it had a capacitor, but I like it, even though I got it, free.
There are a lot of decent dash cams out there, much cheaper than the truck stops, but don't buy anything that you haven't researched online, and verified independently.
There are a lot of fake reviews online, amazon, for example.
    :)

What I don't like about almost all these cameras is the mount... I want to be able to place camera on top of the dash not on the windshield... Seems that only Go-pro and action cameras have mounts that can be used on the dash.
