Hey guys!
Need some veteran advice.
I have a friend who has sprained his hand and has a hand brace. He's insisting on wanting to drive still. Can this cause him to be put OUT OF SERVICE by the DOT if the randomly stop him or pull him in from the weight station?

As long as he can perform the normal tasks associated with operating a commercial motor vehicle, then DOT would have no reason to shut him down.

If he can use it in the cast and if hes not on pain killers can he get a note from his Dr saying hes ok to drive?
I drove for 3 months with a cast from just below my knee, down to my toes on my left leg and the DOT never said a thing -

Ok so..
from the responses i've gotten.. it should be ok. keep in mind, it's not a cast. its those hand braces that you can purchase from walgreens. Well, i'll pass this on to him and let him know. Just dont want to see a friend get in trouble with the LAW and his company with it aswell. -
I'm missing 3 fingers on my right hand and no officer has ever said a word. A wrist brace shouldn't be an issue.
