More winter precip on the way here.....Still sick and still stuck in my driveway....my 4 wheel drive jeep could not pull itself out of a wet paper bag. I have decided that there is a silver lining in all of this. I had an appointment to get a haircut today ...which of course, I did not go to. I have been a bit worried about it because I think some of the people in Missouri are losing their mind with all of the bad weather and cabin fever. Last week when I made the appointment the lady that has cut my hair for more years than I can count said, "You're blonde". .....I said "Ummm ...yeah ....always have been." She said "I'm tired of your blonde hair, so when you get here I am going to dye it red. Be prepared, you're gonna hate it, but that's what we're gonna do." :biggrin_25524: So, Hallelujah! I'm still sick, still stuck in my driveway and still blonde! I hope by the time the snow melts and I can get out of here she has regained her sanity!

My only concern is running out of critter food before the spring thaw. I have been waking up in the middle of the night to find my dogs staring at me. At first I thought it was kind of sweet ....they were worried about their poor mum. But then I remembered this horrible thought that honeybadger put in my head ....it had to do with post mortem canine consumption....now it has me a bit worried. Last night they decided they wanted out at 2 am. I let them out and ...boom! ....my big dog slides and falls down in the snow and ice. He can't get up. I go running out there in my pajamas and slippers, -5 degrees, and lift him up .....he takes off running, runs back in the house and stands there looking at me. I think it was a setup....they have decided that I am the weakest. :biggrin_25526:

I know, I know ...you all think the Queen has finally lost it! :biggrin_2559: Just didn't have much news to tell you about this week. The weather sucks and I have been pretty sick. I am feeling a bit better today. Although, the beautician really did say she was going to dye my hair red and my dog really did fall in the snow and ice last night.....and well, it's all true except for being worried about the dogs.....I don't think they would do that ....:biggrin_25512:

jdmredneck, I am glad you are enjoying the time with your trainer. It is always a blessing when you start out under good circumstances!
George, I'm praying for your dad and hope he is doing better.

Pete, I don't know which is scarier ....me understanding "Yankee" or you understanding "Blonde" :biggrin_2559:

LOL! HTQ, that thought is going to haunt you forever like it does me!!!

I am also deathly I'll with my usual post-hometime plague. Picked up at Amick Farms in Batesburg, SC today to deliver at the Meijer DC in Newport, MI on Saturday morning. Have a preplan for a water load that picks up Sunday. Haven't decided if I will commit to the preplan yet. Gotta ask my DM if that will get me a day of layover pay. Layover plus a short 500 mile total LOH = $$$$ Nit working hard this week but so far next payday is looking pretty darn good! I don't go home again til April 9. I talked hubby into going to the Avett Brothers show in Tallahassee on the 10th!

At a service plaza on the Indiana Turnpike about an hour east of Chicago. There must be 250 rigs in here. I wedged in behind the last row of trucks by myself. I don't care if I can't get out. Was happy to park with just 26 minutes left on my 70. As long as the McDonalds stays open, I've got food. Oh, and my debit card is working again. Bank put a security block for "suspicious" activity all over the country, I said, mam, I am a truck driver and I eat like a pig when I am on the road....Saw four rigs turned over in a 20 mile stretch and none of them were megas. I am carrying 80,000 lbs according to my weight ticket. Running quarter tanks sux, but you do what you gotta do to keep it legal. Got 530 miles until my delivery at 9pm tonite. Second Friday in a row, I had a nightime delivery. Can't wait for spring either.

Not sure which of you is more entertaining, HTQ, Cranky, or George!! :biggrin_2559: I'd say it's a good sign, HTQm that you have such a sense of humor, despite being so sick physically and impending mentally due to weather conditions plus being cabin bound (cabin fever)! You really can tell some good yarns!! :yes2557: Interesting how you make it sound "almost" convincing.

So, I heard it snowed in Florida yesterday, and a friend of Flash confirmed it on Facebook. Anyone know where in FL it snowed? George talked to his dad this morning. I asked him if they got snow in Kissimmee, but being in hospital, George figures his dad wouldn't know. No mention of any.

Pete, your brother lives in an "interesting " area. For beach lovers, guess it's a paradise, but in stormy weather....wow! :biggrin_25513:

HTQ and HB, hope you'll be feeling much, much better (ya know : 'right as rain!'!) real soon now!!!!:yes2557:

Snow Flurries were in NE Florida near Jacksonville. Though we did have freeze watches as far south as Sarasota county and inland areas last night. Believe north of Tampa had freeze warnings. Feel like temp when I was walking dogs was high 20's with actual around 31 in North Port at 7 am this morning and actually had a thin layer of frost on the windshields.

In Dexter Michigan I 94 x167 at the Peelot. Got swapped in Chicago about 9am. My first stop on my BOL was different than on the treq. It took over two hours for dispatch to get back with me on which to go. Then got tired so took a nap in Benton Harbor. Between those two events plus fueling and scaling, my margin for error is gone. I won't apologize for needing a nap. The truck and trailer are still upright and I am not taking a dirt nap in a ditch, median, ravine. Gotta scramble to make OTD in the morning, then onto Joizee for my last two drops Monday morning. Least I can use a split sleeper tomorrow. Up at0230 for a shower and food. Depart after 4am for a 5 am appt. I am 46 miles away. Nite nite.
