You're cutting it pretty close on the money Blair. One of the biggest reasons for new business failures is undercapitalization.

 

i agree that youre cutting it a little close but you are coming along nicely. assuming at ls you get at-least weekly if not twice weekly settlements with a little luck you should be ok. best of luck to ya.

 

Does your trailer have steel wheels, I found some shiny wheels 22.5 for outside if the lug studs are long enough?

Blair, you got all that good lumber be sure and use it to protect that aluminum floor be careful what you set directly on the floor. When you put 4x4's across the floor put them over the cross members if you can.

Don't trust anyones measurements, always check the height, a good way to tell if you need to measure is if you can't reach the top of the piece then measure.

Invest $2.00 in a piece of gray plastic conduit and you can cut it to 8 foot to use to push chains thru loads that have fork holes in them.

 

victor it has too smooth a finish to be rough sawn lumber. it has slightly rounded edges also, which rough sawn does not as it hasn't gone thru the planer, it also appears that the edges aren't rounded enough like5/4 decking. it has the look of treated 2x6.

in another lifetime I did modular houses from the factory haul, to the foundation, to building porches decks and garages. I have a full grasp on lumber dimensions.

and I do believe I see labels stapled to the end of some of the lumber, which come on treated wood, but not rough sawn for sure. zoom the picture and you can see the smoothness and compare it to the thickness of the wooden chair legs.

It's just dunnage, he ain't building furniture. It's rough cut lumber from Missouri, be happy bubba cut them all the same size. Much better than the landscape timber I see used.

people over analyze every thing, trucking is a simple business, you just bring more money in the front door than you let slip out the back. Maybe he should sand, stain and varnish the timbers, then we could start a fight About what color.

 

So if you sign up with Landstar and have no previous flatbed experience they will train you on load securement and hire you to run flatbed?
