    Hello everyone.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'd like to introduce myself to everyone and give you my bio. I'm a 38 yr old male living in Akron OH. This will be my last week working for my current employer ( want to know what I do, just look at my username ). What "my plan" is, after a couple weeks off and caught up on all my at home chores is to enroll in TDDS in Lake Milton, OH and start a career as a truck driver. There's a lot of reasons for the career transition but at the top of the list is
    1. In a corporate Environment, at the age of 44, dying of a heart attack at my desk.
    or
    2. As a driver, at 44, having a heart attack in the sleeper of a truck in the company of lot-lizard
( In case the humor isn't apparent, the second part of that statement was a joke, unfortunately not the first part ).

So that's me in a nutshell.

    RetiredUSN and Chinatown Thank this.

You will be in good company, joining probably 10's of thousands of former IT workers that have hit the road as truckers. Get all the endorsements; especially tanker/hazmat, TWIC card and a passport. These will prepare you for making good money right out of CDL school; $60K-$80K annually. Yes, this is possible with proper preparation. This company hires new CDL grads from certain CDL schools:Trimac Transportation - Akron, OH $80,000 a year CLASS A CDL COMPANY TANKER TRUCK DRIVER. Single Driver Operation. There's several others also.

Thank you Chinatown and RaceFan for the encouraging comments. I've been studying the threads and from what I see, Bulk is the way to go ( btw already have my passport ), newbies should avoid a Lease Purchase and don't take a dump behind your truck or else it may end up on Youtube. That's the gist of what I have been reading.
