I was wondering what you all have been getting on average for miles a week and whats your average length of haul is also . Have you been profitable & I know i shouldnt ask this because it opens it up to a moan and grown ##### fest do you guys thinks the lease can work and what do you do to make it work. I would really make this thread informative instead of neg. thanks drivers be safe ...

.94 + .24 fuel surcharge doesn't leave much room to be profitable
http://www.driveceladon.com/leasepurchase/
Say you do 2500 miles x $1.18 = $2950
$2950 - $1040 for fuel (7.2 X $3) = $1910
$1910 - say even just $1000 for all fixed costs including that new truck lease payment and you're at $910 OR you're basically driving for .36 CPM the average pay for a company OTR driver.
Have a breakdown or take time off.. good luck climbing out of that hole when you're driving for $1.18
I'm not moaning and growning.. just stating the facts here. In fact I lease a truck myself and am with a mega carrier but not for no $1.18, that's highway robbery.eagles5roxwife, blairandgretchen and roadhammer123 Thank this. -
Thanks for keeping it constructive great feed back there payment for new truck is $610 plus the basic deductions coms to $875 to 900 wk for total deductions but thats great info good luck driver with your lease
-
what's in those deductions? all kinds of insurance .. what about a maintenance account?
I'm with Schneider, paid on % and pick loads off their load board. Ask anybody and I'm sure they'll tell you $1.18 is terrible -
So i want to be 100% honest so this is what they wrote me on face book in a instant message So all reoccurring deductions areATBS TAX service (if you choose)Qualcomm Weekly FeesPhysical Damage Tractor InsuranceBotail InsuranceWorkman's comp insTractor
excludes fuel
all deductions plus tractor payment is around $900 for the lone star little less for prostar 2013 14 $ 790 to 875
I want to be clear that i dont drive for them yet i am going this Monday -
Okay...
Please share WHY you would want to lease with them?
Do you understand they pay at near the lowest if the lowest rates out there?
I'm not bashing I just don't understand why someone would want to lease and drive for $1.18 and still have a dispatcher.
Compare the rates out there and you'll see $1.18 is the lowest out there. Maybe Transam pays about the same but that's about it.
Just to give you am example.. this weekend I'm doing $1.60 all miles on all drop and hook freight 1120 miles from East Ohio ending in Wisconsin. There's a load I can pick up going to PA paying $2.10 to the truck on Monday if I wanna do it. That's at 65% and me picking my own freight. Never have I even left the Northeast for less than $1.43 all miles
Sooo yeah $1.18 is really really terrible fyi. -
Thats why the thread is up here to get info from others that lease with Celadon or others that lease with other companies to get info I'm approved to be there for lease or company just wanted to see if any Celadon L/O were on here and see how they were doing
-
I am a company driver for Celadon, so I'm not going to be much help.. but there are Facebook groups for Celadon l/p made by the drivers.. just search Celadon and you should see a few pop up... Good luck whatever route you go
Tkrazy Thanks this. -
well I'm leasing with Schneider and can tell you $1.18 is terrible. Only time I'd ever see rates that is coming out of Florida or CO
-
Maintenance account is five cents a mile...no escrow either.
