Here is a reverse angle on an earlier pic I posted. Just north of cayucos, ca. on Hwy 1. Morro Rock is barely visible above axles 8-9. I am getting to the bottom of the proverbial "barrel" or shoebox in this case, of interesting photos. I have had a great time looking at the old pics I took & each one reminds me of a story that could be told with the pic. It also makes me think of the thousands of photos I DIDN'T take. ( Hanging on the side of a hill hooked to a cable from a D-8 Cat with load of pipe comes to mind) Draging a 35mm camera out every time something was hauled just wasn't practical and I never used a digital camera till 2009. And on the retirement part, today I hauled a JD skiploader, Cat CP563, IT-28G, and finished with a 320 excavator. Thats what retirement is like!! lol

Here's a daytime picture of that load. After getting to the truck at 6am and being ready to roll, I find out that the permit hadn't come in the day before, so I sat until 1430 when it finally came through. Then looking at the permit, I was only permitted for 13'9" when I was 15'9".
Luckily I was just doing it locally so I just ran with itGiggles the Original, Cetane+, truckdad and 1 other person Thank this. -
Is that a loader used in a granite mine? That is an awfully big loader for those little forks.
-
Yeah, that's exactly where I dropped it off at.
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Same as you. We've met several times. I drive for someone who you're not too fond of. Last time I saw you was a rig move in December, I think..

That is Montana on 80 for the repairs/improvements between Stanford and Geraldine? I was hauling shacks through there last summer. -
Actually this was on 89 just north of Gardiner. The previous day we hauled 22k larger boxes to Monarch, also on 89 but bu north... I think the Stanford stuff may have been hauled in last year before I started as it was a large project. I think the stanford stuff was blocks and these are boxes being used for culverts under the road.passingthru69, not4hire and tsavory Thank this.
