Good job, seems as if you are still enjoying your job there. I hope you continue to like it and strive as a driver there.!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to write this all up and for the updates.

My job is holding at this point, but have always been interested in trucking and Raven was one of the companies I have been interested in after I got a year in.

Thanks again and keep updating when you get the chance.

I'm from Jax and 11 months in at Swift. Really thinking bout Raven once my contract is complete. 45 cents and wider windows sounds cool. Swifts plus one is annoying. Do you think you'll sign up for plant loads?

I apologize for the delay, I got out of practice on checking back like I used to do.

I don't think I will sign up to do plant loads, I'm happy running alot of P&G loads since Raven's new contract with them. I know people who really like doing them though.

If you decide to come to Raven after your contract is done you will really enjoy the freedom of choosing your own route and having time to spare on pick ups and delivery dates. Rarely does loads have a tight window and if they do just do the math and if you think you can't make it with drive hours remaining tell someone and they usually will ask when you think you can deliver it and they would adjust the times. It's a huge difference. Never rushing anywhere feels great.

    Good luck to you!

raven is a very good company to work for they pay for your years of experience. not how many years you have with the company. rave is getting another pay increase in April. u can walk in to anybodys office at any time it was not easy leaving them. but i wanted to be home more on weekends and some during the week. you can pick a how long u want to stay out 2/3/4 weeks once u pick how many weeks u want to stay out and tell ur dm. u do not have to tell them again. now keep in mind if u want home on the weekend it can e getting you home any ware from Thurs afternoon to Sunday after noon . but i got home more on fri afternoon . i would go back there if i had to

That is true, I haven't gotten one of those in 2-3 months but yes they are the tightest runs I've experienced. Living in Louisiana and knowing the 2-3 places we pick up from I love those runs because I usually pass through to the house afterwards. I like this run because you go to the terminal, get a shower, borrow the van to go to walmart or restaurant, hang out in the drivers lounge and then start early and get there in the afternoon and can either park in the truck parking area for 10 or go to Petro if you want to chance finding a parking spot. I don't chance it myself though.

Also when I get that Winn Dixie plan on my way to Jacksonville I usually get fuel/snacks/food on the way to terminal the day before since it is usually an early the next day pickup. It helps. That way all I have to do is hit a rest area for the 30 minute break and head back out. This way no traffic to deal with or waiting at truck stop for an island to open.
