That is what the shipper pays Hunt. Right on their website it says drivers will be paid $50 for tarp loads and $20 for each additional retarping.

    dedrouteCO Thanks this.

That's what they charge I would believe. Me it's low, but they mainly do steel and lumber stuff.
With me machines and such, I start at 250.00 mim and it goes up depending on the ld.

I make sure the overall rate is enough to cover tarping if its a tarp load. I've never charged specifically for tarping. It either paid what I wanted to do it,.. or it didnt.

I recently did my cheapest tarp load ever,.. SLC to Denver for $1.91 mi. Heavy load at 44k too. Was not happy,.. but sometimes you do what you gotta do. Its been rough out there.

In general, company drivers kill tarps like crazy. So they gotta charge for it. I make my tarps last, so easy way to make a few bucks for me.

At the place I haul beams out of seen steel poking through brand new tarps many times, I believe on a Hunt truck once or twice even. So how are they gonna give the driver that money and replace $300 tarps too ?

    Hurst Thanks this.

Is this an automated response triggered by the words 'tarp' and 'pay'? Nobody's complaining about the pay in this thread, I was just trying to get some clarification. :) I'd like to see some numbers to back up that justification though.
