Tollways around Chicago.
Since these accidents with State Troopers being involved they seems to pull more and more trucks everywhere.
Even at night time. One "good" spot they have is after 294/80 split, toll gate heading north, about 10 parking spots there.
I drove since 2008, started with Cali turns, went thru 80,88 and 55 many, many times.
You seldom seen State Patrol anywhere night time....
And we went 62 in 55 mph zone, all the time, nobody bothered You ever...JJKid Thanks this. -
I've been out west and they have been light out here. Between Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Cali I've only been red lighted twice this week.

I was down south in a small private truck stop. There was a guy working on his truck and it was a nice morning so I walked over. There was a few other guys hanging out watching also. A truck pulled in with a 3 DOT cars and a motorcycle DOT. They were pulling people off the highway and doing inspections. The DOT guys came over to us and asked one guy which truck was his and said he wanted to see his log book and truck. Another came up to me and asked the same. I said I was OFF DUTY. He just looked at me pizzed and walked away.
I walked inside and told the owner what was going on. He came out and kicked all the DOT out including the one doing the inspection. The owner was from India. It was funny hearing him like he was shooing off a bunch of kids.Bobtail Barry, Ezrider_48501, 6wheeler and 2 others Thank this. -
Today I was coming through a scale in Florida empty and the going through the service road, they give me the arrow to come in the scale and I kept going straight! The truck behind me actually took the fall for me.....

I always get pulled into the super coop in OK on I35 coming from KS pulling heavy. That place scares me. I also saw DOT doing a roadside today in KS on I35.

I drive semi-local, and have pretty much learned where all their little hot spots are for pulling over trucks. I have found ways around each one, and exit a couple exits before their extortion convention, take a few back streets, and then back on my way.
Doing 30 - 40 stops per day gives me plenty of leeway to "tweak" my route to avoid scales. Haven't had a DOT encounter in like two years, with the exception of one a-hole who spotted me on a no truck route.
They get paid to come get me, not for me to go to them.6wheeler Thanks this.
