Thanks Queen, and thanks for the info. I'll check his thread out and probably send him a message. Do anyone here has any opinion about Prime ? Already heard a bunch but more are always welcome.

my feeling is you need to start somewhere and get experience
living in Florida limits your options
but I would look at Abilene long training but you know what your doing when you get out by yourself
    they hire out of FL

Unfortunately I can't with them yet, one of the reasons I'm decided for Prime first ( although im still researching and keeping my options open ) its because they will pay for my training. Maybe after a year or so I can move to a regional or dedicated line with someone else.

Years ago Prime was one that we wouldn't have even considered, being in the Springfield area we had heard of too many bad experiences. But over the years there have been more and more drivers that have been happy in their choice of Prime. I seem to have lost track of time this last month and didn't realize until I was looking at his posts that jdmredneck hadn't posted in a couple of weeks. Has anyone heard from him?

Why do you feel Prime wouldn't be a good first choice, Pete? Their training period? cpm? Equipment? I haven't really looked at those things in awhile. I do know of a couple of current drivers with them including one that recruits, but I haven't stayed up to date on their experiences other than to know that they are generally content. They are experienced drivers though and their perspective would be different than a student.

If you send me a message with your information and your phone number, jmor, I can probably put you in touch with one of them if Prime remains one of your choices.

Bout 2 and half hrs later and $385 for a service call, down the road I went. Can't believe that I'm still sitting in our yard losing money. This never happens!!!

I will admit you are on this one, since us Florida boys have not had hills or winter conditions to deal with. Hence why I am figuring that TA may not be the best place to start out due to the short training.

One thing I did find out about Prime is that unless you are flat bed or tanker you have to take a lightweight truck to get the higher CPM, something that you would have to decide on whether or not you could stand living in a a truck for weeks in something that looks like a extended cab pickup.

I did read about that and talk to a few people about it as well. You can also remove the passenger seat for more space. In the end to be honest i wouldn't care that much, the trucking career in general is a complete adjustment. One more would not hurt.
