I don't know about everyone else, but I can NOT and will NOT go to a company that does that. Holds 2 weeks, then "allows" advances? What a joke.
-
...ok you have a valid point, but what's so terrible about collecting an escrow? What kind of benefits do you want us to offer? I think that in the bigger picture of things of course we would offer some more benefits, but then balance that with slightly lower pay....
-
I don't think there's anything wrong with an escrow policy. The company I work at has an escrow policy of $2,500. Been full for almost 3 years though. Every now & then, I get hit with a tire bill from these RAILYARDS so they just deduct it from my escrow. No problem with that. -
That's the mistake right there, Experienced drivers should have the finances to transition and nor should a carrier provide the advance ( Company drivers ) screw the sob stories. I'd cancel the advanced crap ASAP, You're not a charity.RERM, al_huryn, 77smartin and 1 other person Thank this.

No one in their right mind lives paycheck to paycheck. If you cant wait a week for your check to catch up then you need to work harder or get a better paycheck. As well as learning to properly manage your financials. -
Sorry my man, I cant get past the "holding 2 weeks and allowing advances". It costs between $150 and $200 a week to live out here, plus most of us have bills, and the idea of starting off in debt to a company, cause they hold back 2 weeks. I cant get past that. On the escrow part...if you don't have at least $10k saved up and put away in an account, you don't belong "leasing/owning" a truck anyway.Shaggy Thanks this.

I don't live paycheck to paycheck, trust me. If I did, I wouldn't be out here. But the idea of a company expecting you to go in debt to them before you get a check, is absurd. Sounds like CRST, Prime, CR England, and the rest of the big companies. Most companies hold a week back, which is understandable. But 2 weeks, and allowing advances so you get in debt to them so they don't have to pay you? That sounds a lot like Prime, CR England, CRST, and the rest, like I said.

And furthermore, as a company driver (I will NEVER lease onto or into a company, cause its a giant scam, your basically paying them for the priviledge of driving their truck), if they try and charge me for something that I had no control over...I can assure you, they will find their truck at the nearest terminal without a driver. NOW...if it is something I did, I take the blame, and will pay accordingly. Like I said earlier, if your going to be a fool and go into a L/P program, you have no business doing it unless you have a minimum of $10,000 put away.
Shaggy Thanks this. -
I agree 100% but.............
Crap happens
Long story short, I have a very good employer and my bank royally screw me for 6 out of 8.5 weeks till i noticed, No one knew were 6 weeks of pay went.
I didn't notice until about 8.5 weeks in and checked the account. I was very short.
Turned out to be my bank, Explained to me by the manager they screwed up, it won't happen again, Yeah, I changed banks the next week.
Crap really happensTruckDuo Thanks this.
