Hello all, I have been reading for a few years and I am ready to hit the road and need advice for picking the right company to upgrade from a class B to a class A.
Class B for thirty years, no accidents, no tickets in over twenty five years, no criminal problems, don't drink or smoke (anything).
I am at the end of a foreclosure and filed bankruptcy last year, I have two credit cards and I am rebuilding my credit. Single and no attachments so being on the road is not a problem.
I have been working for a newspaper for the last three years to get paystubs and prove steady employment, before that I was a home improvement contractor and have business licenses and a few tax returns going back over ten years.
I am fifty five and overweight but I have had a medical card for many years and can still work.
I would like to find the best company but would even try CRengland, I called Swift and they prequalified me but I have to have a Texas address. I would love to move to Texas but don't think I have enough money.
Thanks in advance and please ask me any questions that may help the search. Joe

Only pick Werner If you can get a dedicated account and don't mind not being able to talk to anybody when you have a problem because they like to play musical fleet manager

Man there ain't no "right" company!! If you ask 5 drivers you will get 7 answers and all of them will be right for one reason or another. Just read the comments of trucking companies through here.

Don't worry about 55 and overweight unless your sugar and blood pressure are too high. They have sent 3 people home from Schneider this week for that. You may find there is a big world of difference between straight trucks and combinations too! Take your time look around!

Earl Henderson Trucking Co. will probably hire you and put you in their next class. They also hire Texans, so that won't be a problem when you relocate.
