    .
I see that you are just about to 50 on this side :biggrin_25520:

Jake's was a great truck stop. Good food and huge portions. But, when they put in the BEND PARKWAY it bypassed Jake's location ... so bye-bye Jake's.

Presently, NO truck stops in either Bend or Redmond. The only real truckstop on US 97 thru here is in La Pine .... 27 miles south. (fyi though for others reading this, both Bend and Redmond have Wally's)

Jake's kind of exists in a smaller restaurant only form, but in a totally different location. The old location is just now being developed after many years as an empty lot. Sure miss their food.

OK, Here is last nights adventure. It was nasty outside the rain was so hard at times i could only see about 10 feet in front of me and mother nature gave the bug killer another bath. I also found of that in a hard rain it will leak in the cab on the drivers side. It leaked so bad that it gave me a Shower while i was driving down the road. I also found out where Rednecks move to after they win the lottery. its a town not far fron Cleveland, Oh a huge trailer park with double wides, very well landscaped complete with a lake and 9 hole golf course. Talk about redneck heaven.

Ok, the next observation that i had involves bad women drivers. There are some really good women drivers like my sister Ellen and there are some out there that should not be behind the wheel of anything. The first one i observed was driving a West side transport truck who looked like a biker but talked on her cell phone like she was a little school girl and nearly ran me off of the road outside of Chicago. The other a flatbed Driver nearly ran me over while i was trying to back into a spot at the Iowa 80 T/S to hurry to the fuel Island just to take on 50 gal of fuel, cussed me out for being wrong because she came in the wrong parking lot entrance. you should have heard the drivers on the CB over that one. She didn't stay long because alot of drivers were mad at her and one even went over to her at the fuel Island because she threatened to beat him up. Then she hurried up and got back on the road and had the nerve to break into a conversation a couple of Bull haulers were having on how far it was to MI where they were going to, saying it was 9 to 10 hrs with here radio blasting in the background and they told her she was wrong and where she could go. An example of a good one is i was measuring the trailerto set my tandems for the bridge laws and one came up to me with a bunch of food in her hands and asked if i need help with the tape. on the flip side there are Men who act and drive just as bad like the above mentioned. I though it was Cool that there was alot of professional Drivers not steering wheel holders that came to my defense and even one watched my blind side for me while i was backing in. well there is my long winded post for the day. i will post again soon. JJRanch.

It won't be long KillerB and we will be reading about your Trucking adventures. I hope you get a great trainer! JJ was lucky with his trainer Paul, I even give Paul a call sometimes to see how he is doing. JJ keeps in contact with Remy who was Paul's next student after JJ.
We met Remy at the SLC Terminal after Paul asked us to help Remy find an empty Trailer, exchanged Cell #s and that was the beginning of a new friendship.:nike:
