Why so much?

I just tell them that since I own my own truck, I can and will charge anything that I want.
I don't offer no explanations neither.
Course, sometimes they respond with something akin to my reply; always fun to see the ol' capitalistic see saw in motion...

 

I would just tell them "this is my price for good service"

 

It swings both ways, "why so little?" The old saying goes "price is only an issue when value is missing"....

 

I usually just tell them that's what my other customers pay me ...

 

Fuel may have coke down. But everything else. Has gone up.

And insurance might be going through rhe roof.

 

Like was mentioned earlier, you want premium service and your load in the same condition as it was shipped I require a premium rate. Don't want to pay it ok good luck somewhere else.

 

If you want your freight delivered on time with no drama, that's what it costs to put it on my truck.

 

You explain your price comes with a truck.

 

"I want to make some money" - a pawn broker used this on me one time with a big smile on his face, I thought it was refreshingly honest and avoids whining.

 

"If you don't have that much in it: why are you so cheap?"
"I get that rate every time I do a run on this lane for a broker: directs I'm 30% more"

Im not required to explain WHY my rate is what it is: take it or leave it.
