Pay is low. You have access to many companies in Atlanta. Why choose one of the lowest paying companies?
Deliov Thanks this. -
CTL is OK to get tanker experience, but there's others to choose from also:
Schneider Bulk
Superior Carriers
Trimac Transportation
Tidewater Transit
Groendyke Transport
SVTN
Apply to all of them, then pick the best job offer. -
thankyou.didn't know pay was low. I am trying to find a regional route job based out of Atlanta but only working /driving in Georgia and florida. due to family and life commitments I cant do over the road for more than 4-5 days at a time . I have been phoning a lot of companies and they all want 10-20 day overnight OTR drivers. 3 out of 25 companies called would do regional out of Atlanta, one of them was ccc and ctl.

thankyou so much Chinatown. as you can see from the above reply I am looking for a regional Georgia florida drive routes. have contacted your recommendations and most are OTR . if you have any regional contacts then I would be interested.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
You looking for tankers then CCC or CTL is about it for new CDL grad.
Maverick Transportation is real good for decent paychecks and home weekends.
More home weekends:
Decker Truck Line - flatbed
CT Transportation - flatbed
McElroy - flatbed
Jordan Carriers - flatbed
Builders Transportation Co. - flatbed
Ozark Motor Lines - Van
Maverick would be the best. -
What type of trucking are you interested in?
You can pretty much right your own ticket in Atlanta for any type of trucking. Schneider will snatched you up in a minute and more than likely give you regional and possibly local in their bulk division.
Reference the companies that Chinatown mentioned, make contact with them RIGHT NOW and let them know your intentions. Inform your instructors, break out that phone book, hang out where the truckers are and work your gift of gab. There are MANY companies there that are under the radar that will hire you right out of school.Last edited: Mar 20, 2015
