New owner operator here!!! Need Help!!!

$2 a mile loaded or $2 a mile all miles?

 

$2 a mile loaded is your best option however right now thats hard to get anywhere for dryvan rates suck right now though there going back up 1st quarter is always slow I usually take off during the slow season and bust ### the rest of the year and i do very well. last year i had personal issues i took 6 months off not all at once but added up. and i still grossed $200,000. if you take care of your truck and not put off on your maintenance you can plan on spending about $20,000 a year on fixing your truck. thats just for basic repairs not counting those surprise repairs like blowing a turbo or breakdowns along the way. in 3 years I have only had 1 roadside break down though they can happen at anytime and cant be prevented the secret to minimizing them is take truck to the shop every time you are home weather you think it needs it or not you be surprised how many things your mechanic and catch before it becomes a major roadside problem. also have a good local mechanic at home someone that wont screw you. i ended up becoming friends with mine. it had its advantages my machanic is open 7 am to 5 pm mon through friday he has a small shop he has 3 or 4 employees and he gets dirty himself. the other day I had a load and had an emergency couldn't get an inspection cause truck been sitting first quarter and all had a list of crap they failed me on some bs some legit. called him up at 4 pm he stayed worked up fixing my truck till 2 am so i was able to keep my load. that's the kind of mechanic you need working for you.

400 miles deadhead
$2350 on 558 loaded
200 miles deadhead
$2425 on 977 loaded
150 miles deadhead
$2350 on 1070 loaded

 

I'm going to agree with you, I'm pulling dry van and doing pretty well. I've been running Monday to Thursday past two months. Keep up the good work

 

Not a driver but in the industry I hear Landstar is one of the better companies...

 

We got drunk the other day we called every load in a row on the load board every load over 500/mi we told them $3/mi and every broker said I was crazy
