Welp my foray into the world of trucking came to an end on Friday. Maverick wanted my PCP doctor to sign off on a couple med documents. 1. for my motorcycle crash that released me to be able to participate in the physical testing and that I'm off my pain meds. 2. me taking my anti-anxiety med wouldn't interfere with driving a CDL vehicle.

PCP refused to sign both. Said that's for the physical doctor to sign. Maverick's human resource department said "you're not coming here to us until those are signed by your PCP.

I just threw my hands in the air. Shredded the docs. Shredded the prof of employment.

Went back to my old job. Made 5k this week and said the hell with it all.

Been at this job for 21 years . Guess i'll retire from it. Just didnt' realize what a cluster %$#@ it would be.

What was your old job? Sounds like better pay than truck driving anyday.

The referred doctor has to give you the note. I cracked L4 and had my referred DR sign a release to work with no limitations form. Did not have an issue with it.. Your PCP is not a specialist. That is why they referred you to a specialist.

why would you go to trucking if you have been at a job for 21years AND making 5k a week?

wasnt' about the pay. It's the thought of chasing down 3 specialists to sign off, which the specialists that put me back together are 2hrs away. I may relook at it down the road, but I thought jesus.

I talk to my pcp all the time about lifting weights so he knows what I'm doing in the gym and he prescribed the anti-anxiety meds. Honestly thought if I'm benching 315 now since the crash and squatting 500 again he wouldnt' have an issue. /shrug

Guess in the long run i'll have more crap than this to deal with once on the road.

Never saw a Dr. quit and go into trucking...brokers , retired folks maybe...It's just sorta odd , with that much time/seniority on a job , plus over 250 k a year in pay...even if you landed one of the absolute best paying jobs ever in trucking , you're still taking a heck of a pay cut....bound to be some decent benefits health ins./retirement/ time off.... where you're at presently , or you would not have hung around for 21 years...just saying.

I never knew a person to go from 5k a week? down to minimum wages.

But then again, I call his bluff.
