What I am wondering is why when you go for employment, the previous employer, can only confirm dates and times of employment, due to what I was told, that there have been lawsuits because of companies giving bad info, and people unable to get employment. Why should DAC be any different? Why arent they goverened by the same rules an regulations, or at least some kind. Makes no sense at all. As others have said, it is going to have to take lawsuits, to change anything. They need to be STOPPED FROM RUINING PEOPLES LIVES![]()

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Your DAC is everything

If you got apps in to some companies start calling, dont wait for them. I fill out and app and I give them 2 days. If I dont hear from them, I start calling. Last year I filled out one for a company and gave them a week and I hadnt heard anything, so I called and it turned out I was turned down because of an accident I had in '06. They werent going to hire me so they never bothered to call.

Thats the same thing they have been doing to my husband,he applies on line, and they send a confirmation, that they received it, and then he waits and waits, no word from them he calls, and it is always that darn dac, turned down again!

It is not your husbands DAC but his experience that is the cause of the wait. The trucking industry prefers the drivers that are fresh off the boat; they are cheeper, deep in debt, and will break FMCSR without question. The DOT tried to take over the screening process from the trucking industry because of the extreamly high number of deaths caused by training. The ATA and their partners in the trucking industry donated millions of dollars through their lobbyists to keep the DAC system; and of course the Congress shot down the bill. You will find the more experience you have and the more knowledge of the FMCSR you have; the less chance you have of being hired by the companies with training schools. It is a sweet system once you realize how our federal tax dollars are waisted training drivers and then that money goes back through the lobbyist into the politicians pockets. THE ONLY DOWN FALL IS THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO DIE EVERY YEAR, because of budget. I have DAC reports from companies I never even worked for, JB Hunt, Swift, to name a couple. If you are an experienced driver these training companies will file a DAC just for refusing the job offer. Could of been I laughed all the way out the door after passing orientation.
Then, everything I have including my house is paid for and I am not a trainee. Unlike the trainee I will follow the FMCSR and the suits hate that. -
The trucking industry does have a REAL DAC PROBLEM but it is not in their budget.
DELANCO A truck driver from South Carolina attacked another trucker outside a business on Burlington Avenue, police said.
Dexter J. Chambers, 38, of Bishopville, S.C., was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon after the May 20 attack, police said.
The drivers began fighting about 9:20 a.m, police said. During the fight, Chambers pulled a large knife and chased the other driver, police said.
Officers responded and arrested Chambers without incident, police said. No serious injuries were reported.
Chambers was lodged in Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly on $35,000 bail. -
ok what does this hav to do with dac
-
More than likely nothing. Could be a totally unrelated tidbit of info that so many others are partial to posting on the site..ya know, just passin it along.
-
Just wondering how do Unions deal with this DAC thing .
-
IH, good input! I agree, they just don't want you to work for their competition FOR SURE.
-
Has anyone had any accidents? How does Davis handle the DACs? With these drivers on the road, accidents happen and I worry about how a company will trash my DAC if I decide to leave the company. They called me for an interview too but I want to hear the truth from other drivers before I make the move.
